RODA Root teak pedestal side and coffee tables
Three round tables make up RODA Root, each on a single solid teak leg that splits into four feet at the ground. Rodolfo Dordoni kept the form plain so it can stand beside almost any sofa or armchair, at home or in a hotel. The top sets the character, in Carrara marble or other stone, gres, wavy glass or colored concrete. Among RODA garden furniture, Root fills the gaps between seats.

A trunk and four feet
The name describes the base. A thick teak column rises from four short feet, much as a trunk rises from its roots, and carries a thin round top. Dordoni wanted a table that feels solid and light at once, and the contrast between the heavy column and the slim top does that work. Left outdoors without oil, the teak weathers to silver gray, a shade that sits well next to stone.
The range is small and easy to read. Root 045 is a side table about 17 3/4 inches across and 17 3/8 inches high, low enough to sit next to a lounge chair. Root 046 keeps that height and widens to 26 3/8 inches as a coffee table. Root 067 puts the small top on a taller column, 26 3/8 inches high, which brings a drink within reach of someone in a dining chair.
Tops are where Root changes most. Carrara marble, Luna and Farsena are natural stones with their own veining. Natural gres is porcelain stoneware that resists stains and strong sun. Wavy glass comes in fern, navy or paprika, and concrete in mole, green or orange. Marble can mark from oil or citrus if left unwiped, while gres and glass need little more than a damp cloth.
RODA pitches Root for homes and for hospitality work alike. A pair can flank a sofa, a single tall one can fit between two chairs on a narrow balcony, and three at mixed heights make a loose group by the pool. Root is made in Italy and was designed to pair with lounge pieces from any other RODA family, whatever their frame material.
