RODA Pillow teak and Canatex outdoor lantern
RODA Pillow is a portable lantern by Gordon Guillaumier and the piece that brought lighting into RODA's outdoor accessories. A teak base shaped like an eye holds a shade of sand colored Canatex, and a gray belt handle lets it be carried or hung. It comes in two heights and runs on a rechargeable battery, so it can sit among RODA garden furniture far from any outlet.

Light with a handle
The name fits the shape. Between two trimmed edges the Canatex shade swells out like a stuffed cushion, while the teak base under it tapers to a point at each end. The woven Canatex spreads the LED into a soft, even glow. The belt handle on top matches the straps found across the catalog.
Inside is a dynamic white LED. Its color temperature can be set anywhere from a warm 3000K to a cooler 4000K, and the light is switched on and tuned with a touch control on the lantern or through an app. Charging happens over a power cable and takes about three to four hours. A full battery gives roughly six to eight hours of light, which covers a long dinner outside.
The shorter Pillow 001 is about 19 5/8 inches tall and fits on a dining table without blocking the view across it. The taller 002 reaches about 27 2/3 inches and works on the ground beside a sofa, at the top of pool steps or along a path. Both are about 18 1/2 inches long and 9 1/8 inches deep, and the handle lets either one hang from a pergola beam or a sturdy branch.
RODA chose teak and a technical textile because both are materials it has used outdoors for years, and they tie the lantern to teak tables and woven sofas from the same range. Pillow is made in Italy and is a small addition to a larger order: a pair on a dining table, or a few scattered around a lounge area once the sun goes down.
