RODA Onda soft lounge chair, chaise and pouf
There is no frame inside RODA Onda. Gordon Guillaumier shaped the lounge chair, chaise longue and pouf as soft, low volumes that give under the body and settle around it. The three share one outline and can be pushed together or scattered across a deck, which gives Onda a looser, more casual feel than most RODA furniture, by the pool or in a hotel lounge.

Soft shapes with no frame
Each Onda seat is built like a very well made beanbag. Inside is a water-repellent polyester bag filled with small polystyrene beads mixed with synthetic fiber, which molds to whoever sits down. That core is heat-sealed, so rain cannot reach the filling. Over it goes an outer cover in one of RODA's outdoor fabrics, and the result looks upholstered while staying loose and informal.
The underside is covered in Batyline, a tough coated mesh that resists tearing and copes with uneven paving and rough stone joints. The two larger pieces, the lounge chair and the chaise longue, have a strap handle on the back, so one person can drag them into the shade or line them up for a party and move them back afterward.
All three pieces are about 43 1/4 inches wide and share a seat height near 13 3/4 inches. The lounge chair has a back about 27 3/4 inches high. The chaise longue stretches that shape to about 67 inches long, and the pouf is a lower block that works as a footrest or an extra seat. Two poufs and a lounge chair already make a small corner for a terrace.
Guillaumier drew Onda for homes and for what RODA calls soft contract spaces, the relaxed end of hotel and hospitality work. The fabric choice sets the tone, from a plain neutral to a bold pattern from the RODA and Missoni partnership. Onda is Italian outdoor furniture that can be arranged differently every weekend.
