RODA Eolie iroko sunlounger, gazebo and tables
Wide slats of iroko wood are the one idea behind RODA Eolie, a poolside family by Gordon Guillaumier: a sunlounger with a four-position back, a gazebo that shelters it, and two low coffee tables. Each piece stands on its own, so a deck can take two or twenty. This is RODA furniture for the pool edge, the beach and the deck of a boat.

An archipelago of iroko
Guillaumier took one element, a broad slat of iroko, and repeated it through every piece. What comes out is a set of low, flat shapes spread across a deck like islands, and RODA describes the collection as an archipelago. The sunlounger is 78 3/4 inches long and 39 3/8 inches wide, and it lies only 6 3/4 inches off the ground.
Iroko is a durable African hardwood that holds up well outdoors, and the Eolie wood carries FSC certification. Left natural, it drifts toward gray in the sun. Painted, it comes in olive, blue or orange, all muted, with the grain still showing through. The hydro-draining cushions come in two thicknesses, plus a thicker armrest cushion, covered in fabrics from the RODA range.
The gazebo is an iroko frame about 78 3/4 inches tall with a Batyline canopy pulled taut by an aluminum bar. Its base measures about 83 by 75 inches, and the canopy reaches past it to cover roughly 86 3/4 by 99 5/8 inches, which puts a lounger in shade through the middle of the day. Batyline is a coated mesh that sheds water, offered here in six colors.
Two coffee tables sit at lounger height, 6 3/4 inches: one 39 3/8 by 26 inches, the other square. Put one beside a lounger or between two. Because every piece is ordered singly, a hotel can line a pool with loungers while a homeowner starts with a pair and a table. Eolie is made in Italy by RODA.
