RODA Zefiro round outdoor side and coffee tables
Zefiro is the Italian name for the west wind, and RODA Zefiro tables carry the idea: a round top that seems to hover over a slim base. Piero Lissoni drew three sizes, from a small side table to a wide coffee table that sits barely above the floor. They are made to slide in beside sofas and lounge chairs from anywhere in the RODA outdoor furniture range.

The three tables share one drawing at different scales. The side table has a top about 17 3/4 inches across and stands about 15 3/4 inches high, right for a drink beside an armchair. The middle size is about 27 2/3 inches across. The largest, about 39 3/8 inches wide, is only about 8 1/4 inches tall, low enough to work as a coffee table in front of a deep lounge sofa or even as a tray on a rug.
Each base is a slim stainless steel structure, and that slimness lets the top look as if it rests on almost nothing. Stainless steel stands up to damp air, and the powder coating in smoke or milk protects the finish from sun and rain. A table left out by a pool through the summer keeps its color and does not stain the deck with rust.
Tops come in powder coated aluminum, in smoke or milk, or in gres in a natural tone. Aluminum keeps the table light and gives a smooth, even color that can match the base or contrast with it. Gres, a hard porcelain stoneware, resists heat, scratches and spills, which makes it the easier choice under drinks and hot plates. Mixing sizes and tops lets a group of Zefiro tables look planned rather than repetitive.
Lissoni wanted a family that crosses contexts, from a city balcony to a hotel lounge terrace, and the plain round form makes that possible. The tables are Italian outdoor furniture from RODA and can sit among any of its sofa collections, including pieces by other designers. A single small table beside a chair and a group of three in front of a sofa keep the same light effect.
