RODA Teka teak sofas, dining tables and chairs
Gordon Guillaumier designed RODA Teka around one wood and one shape. The wood is solid teak, and the shape is the prism, which gives every frame its faceted, angular edge. From that start the family grew into modular sofas, two coffee tables, two dining tables and a dining chair with or without arms, enough RODA garden furniture to dress a terrace from the lounge corner to the table.

The sofas come as a one-seater, a two-seater and a three-seater, plus left, right and central modules that join into corners or long straight runs. A woven Canatex base carries the seat cushion. Look closely at the back and arms and you will see buttons set into the teak. They hold the cushions in place so they do not slide forward, and they are placed so they read as part of the drawing instead of hardware added later.
Teak is the reason this collection lasts outside. Its natural oils keep water out, it does not need paint, and left alone it weathers to a soft silver gray. Owners who prefer the warm honey color can keep it with a teak oil from time to time. The cushions are made with hydro-draining padding, so rain passes through and the seat dries quickly, and the covers can be chosen from RODA's full list of outdoor fabrics.
Two low tables, one square at about 32 1/2 inches and one longer at 51 1/2, sit in front of the sofas. The dining tables measure about 71 3/8 and 95 3/4 inches long. All four take a top in matt gres, in sand, mole or lead, or in wavy glass in fern, navy or paprika. The dining chairs pair a teak frame with a Batyline seat and back in gray, sand, olive, navy, ginger or sky, and they stack four high.
RODA describes Teka as a showcase of how it mixes natural and technical materials, and the combination of teak with stoneware, glass and Batyline mesh bears that out. The chairs are rated for residential use, so the collection fits a family garden or a home terrace best. It is Italian outdoor furniture made by RODA in Gavirate, with the frames finished in natural teak.
Buttons in the teak keep the cushions from sliding.

Gordon Guillaumier, who trained in Malta, Switzerland, England and Italy and works from his studio in Milan, is part of RODA's artistic direction team, and Teka shows his attention to how a surface looks and feels.
