RODA Double chair and six outdoor poufs
The RODA Double chair is a dining armchair dressed entirely in fabric, designed by Rodolfo Dordoni alongside six poufs in round, square and oblong shapes. The chair hides a smoke colored steel frame and stacks four high. The poufs have no frame to speak of, only a nylon base and a draining foam body. Both bring upholstered softness to RODA patio furniture.

Soft seats for the table
The chair has a curved, enveloping back and a seat 18 7/8 inches off the ground, a normal dining height. Beneath the cover is a powder coated stainless steel frame in smoke, stretched with elastic straps and padded with open cell foam wrapped in a 3D polyester net. Open cell foam lets water pass, and the net keeps air moving, so a cushion soaked by a summer storm dries out again.
Four chairs stack on one another, handy in a garage over winter or on a restaurant terrace between services. The cover is removable. It can go to the cleaner, or be replaced with a new color a few years on. RODA offers it in twenty fabrics from its own range, from Allegro to Spiga, and the company works with Missoni on outdoor textiles as well.
The poufs come in six sizes. Three are round, from 23 5/8 to 47 1/4 inches across, and the wider they get, the lower they sit. Three are square or rectangular, the largest 49 1/4 by 29 1/2 inches. Each has a nylon base, a core of open cell synthetic material and a soft multi-layer cushion on top. Grouped in mixed heights and colors, they serve as extra seats or low footrests.
Double is made in Italy by RODA in Gavirate, and the poufs are meant for living rooms as much as for terraces, in homes and in contract projects. A cluster of them beside a pool reads looser than a row of matching loungers, and the chair gives an outdoor dining table the comfort of an indoor one.

Rodolfo Dordoni
Rodolfo Dordoni, who trained as an architect at the Milan Polytechnic and directs RODA's artistic line, gave Double the feel of an upholstered indoor chair, with the frame kept out of sight.
