Aluminum bistro tables

One base, many tops

Button is a family of pedestal tables. The dining tables stand about 29 inches high, as squares of roughly 31 or 35 inches and as rounds of the same widths. Bar tables rise to about 43 inches with a square or round top. The low tables, at about 26 inches, sit between dining and coffee height and are meant to pull up to lounge chairs and sofas. A small round side table finishes the set.

Every structure is aluminum, powder coated in smoke or milk. That keeps the tables light enough to move around a terrace, and aluminum does not rust, which counts on a coastal patio. Several models take a choice of top: powder coated aluminum in the frame color, teak for warmth, or natural stoneware, which stands up to sun, heat and spilled wine.

Button was drawn by RODA's own studio with contract use in view. A round base keeps each table steady on uneven paving, the tops wipe clean, and the sizes range from a narrow balcony table to a larger round for a dining terrace. In a restaurant the square models can be pushed together for a bigger group and split apart again at the end of the evening.

At home, a single Button table by a kitchen door turns a balcony into a breakfast spot, and a low one next to a sofa holds drinks at a comfortable reach. Button is Italian outdoor furniture built for daily use, and every top, color and height is chosen when the order is placed.

Button comes from the in-house design team at RODA, which works alongside the company's own prototyping and production shops near Lake Varese, and it was planned for restaurants and hotels as much as for homes.
